The Blanket Edit

This might sound crazy, but at Koigu we've been craving making blankets recently. Whether it be granny square projects or large cozy Othello throws, we are absolutely blanket crazy.

With the temperature at the farm being almost unbearable, the thought of wrapping up in a wool blanket might seem unimaginable, however, with the AC cranked it is what we need.

Styx Blanket

First we have the Styx blanket designed by me. This blanket is crocheted with six skeins of Chelsea our Aran weight yarn. One of my favourite things about Chelsea, aside from its beautiful softness, and the fact that its 100% merino. It makes up very quickly, but is still incredibly lightweight. The Styx blanket pattern can be found in Vill 1.

Crinkle Blanket

Our next two blankets are designed by the fabulous Unjung Yun, who has designed many complex designs out of Koigu Yarn. The first blanket is the crinkle blanket knit using Koigu KPM and KPPPM, the pattern can be found in Koigu Magazine 4.

Starry Flowers

The next blanket is the Starry Flowers blanket knit in KPM. One of the things we love about Unjung is her use of shapes in knitting, and this blanket is an excellent example of that. The blanket uses 6 colours, 2 skeins each.

The Fourth Wall Blanket

The Fourth Wall Blanket, designed by Bundle Handmade, known for her amazing blanket designs. This blanket takes 7 skeins of Othello.

Judah Blanket

The Judah Blanket, knit in Koigu Chelsea and designed by Maie Landra, was originally knit for baby Judah at the time. The blanket was so loved that we reknit it in a solid colour. Judah is using only 5 skeins of Chelsea.

Laredo Blanket

Our next blanket is the Laredo Blanket, designed by the Ville Crochet. I love this blanket for the stunning contrast that it has. As well the variations of shapes and crochet techniques. You can find this pattern in Vill 2.

Boheme Blanket

By far one of our longtime favourites is the Boheme Blanket by Marji LaFreniere. We've loved seeing other colour variations, and can't wait to get our blanket started.⠀
⠀
The blanket is knit using Koigu KPPPM and KPM, and the pattern can be found both on Marji's Ravelry page as well as in Koigu Magazine 9. ⠀

Loopy Throw

Looking for a blanket that has texture, but also just flys by while making it. Loopy Throw, designed by Joanna Clayson -- Pattern in Vill 2⠀

Moggie Blanket

More crochet love, this time colour mixing with the Othello! Another quick make to have fun with and love playing with. Moggie Blanket, designed by Joanna Clayson -- Pattern in Vill 1

Textured Blanket

The final knit blanket is a quick knit that could be done in any Othello colour! Textured Blanket, designed by Alison Abbey -- Pattern in Vill 1
