Being in lockdown, quarantine, stay at home order and snowed in has made me a very prolific knitter. I’ve picked up my needles, and knit everything in sight. With this I’ve gotten to try many beautiful designs by various designers, and looking for suggestions for my next WIP.
I though I would lay out my winter WIPs, the yarns I used and the other colours I’d pick if I were to knit them again. Let me know if you’d make any of these, and which one is your favourite!
Sunday Sweater
The Sunday Sweater was one of my favourite to knit, it was super quick and I love wearing it everyday. I knit this sweater with Aura and Cheers held together which gives a really heavy drape. As you can tell in the photos my first skeins of Aura on the top were darker than the ones in the bottom, from the same dyelot, but It ended up working pretty well in the end creating a light fade. Also I definitely think that I could have sized down to m, but I like the slight oversized look.
I used just over 3 skeins of both yarns held together.
Yarn:
Koigu Aura - A349
Koigu Cheers - CH118L
Needle:
Multiple sizes of circular needles 7mm
Pattern: Sunday Sweater, designed by Petite Knit
Size: Large
Other Colour Options!
I recommend if your going for a blue sweater tone mixing Cheers CH351 and Aura 1080
For a paler option with bursts of colour try mixing Aura 998 with Cheers 817
Holiday Slipover
I had a dream for a a knit vest in Masham, and it came true. I found the Holiday Slipover by Petiteknit which worked perfectly for the Masham weight and gauge. I knit the vest in the natural dark brown/grey colour, though I think it would look beautiful in lots of the solid Masham colours. This project again took no time to make, and I’m obsessed with it. I tend to style it more with a black turtleneck, and its become one of my favourite pieces.
I used 4 skeins for this project. Leftover yarn can be used for a hat or mitts.
Yarn: Koigu Masham - 4skeins
Needle: 9mm circular
Pattern: Holiday Slipover by Petiteknit
Size: Large
Other Colour Options:
I love the way this design looks in the natural colour, so I would highly recommend making it in either the light or dark grey or even the white. Of course that being said, if you want a pop of colour in your vest I’d go with any of the beautiful Masham colours!

Into the Pines Mittens
This past Christmas I whipped up a pair of mittens for all my loved ones, which would not have been possible if I didn’t have such a great mitten pattern to work with. I loved knitting the Into the Pines Mittens, by Bluebird Pine. I knit the mittens in Othello, and they are super soft and durable, and after two months of snowy wear, they have received great reviews!
Yarn: Koigu Othello various colours, 2 skeins
Needle: 8mm double point
Pattern: Into the Pines Mittens, by Bluebird Pine
Size: Large

Sweater no. 6
I really wanted to make something out of Koigu Origins Corriedale, I felt like it was our most under appreciated yarn, and the way that colours show up in knitting is just stunning. So I found a sweater pattern and got started. Should the Corriedale dk yarn be knit on 7mm, probably not, but the drape that I got and the speed I was able to knit this pattern at I definitely appreciated this project!
This sweater took 4 skeins of the Koigu Origins Corriedale yarn..
Yarn: Koigu Origins Corriedale, in colour 5340, 4 skeins
Needle: 7mm circular
Pattern: Sweater no.6 by My Favourite Things
Other colour options:
Koigu Corriedale is available in a series of different solid colours, all of which would work perfectly for this design. Koigu Corriedale+Gotland, is the same gauge, as a grey natural colour, which we have over dyed in a variety of shades. Both yarns work for this project!
