The original mother of Koigu, Maie Landra, spent much of her career as a fine artist. Before her days of hand-painting yarn and creating stunning knit creations, Maie completed a fine arts degree at the Ontario College of Art and Design and had her work displayed in countless galleries.
Her love of colour and form has been the driving force behind Koigu for 30 years. Maie’s paintings are hung throughout the woolshed and the family house, providing colour inspiration and reminding us daily where Koigu Wool Designs all began!
This month’s collector is inspired by these Maie Landra original paintings in the woolshed, with their swooshing primary colours and play between light and dark.
In KPPPM fingering weight, this variegated collector colour is the perfect yarn for your next pair of socks or gloves. Check out that beautiful striping in the swatch above!
