The third and final installment in our KPPPM gemstone collector series is here! AMMONITE is a vibrant neutral, with a grey base and specks of fluorescent green and orange.
Ammonite is actually a type of fossil and can only found in Alberta, Canada! The fossils are from the petrified shells of giant sea animals that lived thousands of years ago when North America was covered in water. Some pieces of ammonite are as large as 4 feet wide! The brilliant colours and shine are caused by a similar material as Mother of Pearl, which is found inside some mollusks.
